Patching | Senior Software Engineer, Java

Location: Remote within the USA for residents of CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available through physical offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Chicago city limits are excluded.

Base salary: $160,000–$220,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Design and develop large-scale, high-availability software applications for endpoint and server management.
• Influence architecture decisions and balance technical debt, performance, scalability, maintainability, and business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions and drive engineering improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and help establish technical standards and best practices.
• Own technical initiatives, address challenges, and implement improvements based on support data.
• Advocate for quality assurance practices and deliver robust, high-performance software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience, particularly with product applications.
• 5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems and complex system design.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and practices.
• Expertise in API design and RESTful services using frameworks such as Jersey or Spring.
• Proficiency in relational database design and development, plus in-depth knowledge of quality testing practices.

• Experience with caching systems, particularly Redis.
