Automation Process Quality Engineer (Automation)

Location: On-site in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, five days per week

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and improve automated welding and assembly processes using Fanuc robots.
• Define machine specifications, approval protocols, runoff requirements, and installation requirements for automation capital equipment.
• Design and select automation tools and fixtures, establish inspection processes, and apply GD&T principles.
• Perform advanced root-cause analysis using Six Sigma, DOE, A3, 9-Step Problem Solving, and 5-Why methods.
• Implement process improvements in automation cells and monitor SQDIP indicators including scrap, FPY, DPU, downtime, and equipment efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, JSAs, ergonomic studies, purchase orders, and EHS metric follow-up for project implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronic Engineering; a master’s degree in a related engineering or quality field is preferred.
• At least three years of manufacturing, process, or quality engineering experience in automation.
• Project management and team management experience.
• Advanced PLC programming and automation tool selection and design skills.
• Mastery of Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, and Profibus communication networks.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, material flow, DMAIC, GD&T, Minitab, TPM, and AutoCAD; English proficiency at approximately 80% is required.
