Senior C++ Software Engineer (Legacy)

What you will do

• Develop and modernize established healthcare desktop applications.
• Analyze security requirements and findings, and implement security-related product changes.
• Remediate unsafe input handling, buffer overflows, memory corruption risks, and SQL injection vulnerabilities.
• Maintain threading components and work safely with pointer-based, memory-sensitive legacy C++ code.
• Assess technical impact and regression risks before changing existing functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, continuous integration, and collaboration with client developers and architects.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with C++ and mature or legacy C++ codebases.
• Knowledge of low-level programming, pointers, pointer arithmetic, manual memory management, bounds checking, and memory safety.
• Experience with native-code vulnerability prevention or remediation, including buffer overflows, memory corruption, and unsafe input handling.
• Experience with threading or multithreading, object-oriented programming, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Good SQL knowledge and understanding of secure database access.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, QA engineers, security experts, and product developers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt or similar desktop GUI frameworks.
• Experience with Windows or Windows Server-based desktop and on-premises products.
• Oracle Database experience.
• Experience with ISAM or other legacy data-storage technologies.
• Experience with secure software development and remediation of documented security findings.
