TL;DR
Senior C Engineer (Linux Kernel): Developing a virtualization layer from scratch for ARM hardware as part of a migration of a column-oriented database cloud from Intel to ARM with an accent on Linux kernel development and driver implementation. Focus on designing high-performance system features, optimizing multi-core concurrency, and implementing low-level software for ARM architecture.
Location: Must be based in Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne) or remote within Ukraine

What you will do
- Build and maintain new features for a scalable column-oriented database platform according to design specifications.
- Develop a virtualization layer from scratch specifically for ARM hardware.
- Participate in the functional and architectural design of assigned system features.
- Research and evaluate technical options for implementing low-level software components.
- Conduct code reviews and provide accurate estimations for feature scope.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to suggest technical and functional improvements to the product.
Requirements
- Proficiency in ANSI C programming.
- Experience in Linux kernel development and POSIX.
- Strong background in multi-core and multi-threaded programming.
- English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) level required.
- Location: Based in Ukraine.
Nice to have
- Experience building or optimizing software for ARM processors.
- Knowledge of parallel computation.
- Experience with Virtualization software and Hypervisors.
- Proficiency in Assembler.
