Software Developer in Test (m/f/x) (Java)

Location: Karlsruhe, Germany; relocation support is available for moving to Karlsruhe.

What you will do

• Define requirements and acceptance criteria with Product Managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain automated tests in Java to improve reliability and release confidence.
• Design and execute API and REST interface tests for critical customer experiences.
• Contribute to load and performance testing for scalable and resilient platforms.
• Support debugging, review code, and identify issues before production.
• Improve test automation practices and promote quality throughout the agile development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining automated test cases.
• Strong understanding of writing, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality code.
• Experience with JUnit, REST-Assured, Zephyr or similar test management tools, and automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, or Playwright.
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL queries, plus knowledge of agile quality assurance practices.
• Fluent spoken and written English is required.
