Staff Flight Software Engineer (C++)

Salary: $188,600–$267,700 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop highly reliable flight software for Haven missions.
• Implement and integrate algorithms from GNC, thermal, propulsion, power, and ECLSS disciplines.
• Develop driver-level code for radios, sensors, and actuators and integrate flight code with avionics hardware.
• Develop and maintain telemetry and commanding systems for vehicle communications.
• Review code for adherence to established standards and best practices.
• Develop unit and integration tests and establish a continuous integration framework for flight software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience coding in C++.
• Experience with fault-tolerant and safety-critical software design.
• Experience developing software for complex systems such as spacecraft, aircraft, or autonomous vehicles.
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends during critical mission milestones.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Embedded systems and continuous build-and-test experience.
• Satellite communications or telemetry systems experience.
• Hands-on experience with UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, TCP, or UDP.
• Linux kernel software, drivers, and network programming experience.
• Experience with Git, CMake, GNU tools, Atlassian tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or digital multimeters.
