Senior Director Quantum Technology Solutions (Quantum Computing)

Location: USA - New York - Malta; GF fab locations in New York or Vermont. Travel of 25% or more is required.

Expected salary range: $198,000.00–$333,000.00 per year; exact salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the GF Labs quantum technology roadmap in alignment with emerging industry needs and strategic customer engagements.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and scaling of a multidisciplinary team of quantum physicists, integration and process engineers, design enablement engineers, and project managers.
• Plan and execute customer joint-development programs targeting quantum systems with more than one million qubits.
• Build partnerships with quantum materials and tools providers, research institutions, and universities to address materials and integration challenges.
• Advocate for quantum initiatives by communicating technical milestones and demonstrated ROI to business stakeholders and partners.
• Oversee quantum technology operations, including cryo-operations, fabrication-process improvement, OKR-driven hardware benchmarking, project scope and timelines, and eight-quarter budget planning.

Requirements

• MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in semiconductor or quantum R&D.
• Demonstrated experience in advanced semiconductor process integration, especially BEOL integration, photonics, or quantum modalities in at least two of the following: superconducting qubits, silicon spin qubits, photonics, ion traps, or neutral atoms.
• Fluent written and verbal English.
• Willingness to travel 25% or more.
• Significant experience managing large, high-growth engineering organizations and complex strategic planning.
• Expert-level organizational skills and a track record of delivering complex hardware milestones.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex quantum concepts for executive-level stakeholders and partners.
• Ability to work at GF fab locations in New York or Vermont.
