Specialist - Industrial IoT (Progress OpenEdge)

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge 10.2B and Progress ABL.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional solutions.
• Review and modify complex legacy code while maintaining application stability.
• Troubleshoot runtime and compile errors, database connectivity issues, integration problems, and application performance defects.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional teams, and stakeholders on enhancements and production fixes.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, release management, SDLC activities, and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on Progress OpenEdge development experience.
• Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge 10.2B and Progress ABL.
• Experience with MFGPRO and/or QAD ERP applications and enterprise-scale business systems.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, database connectivity, application integration, and legacy-code maintenance skills.
• Experience with version control, release management, SDLC methodologies, and software engineering best practices.
• For offshore positions: advanced spoken and written English required. For onshore positions: fluent spoken and written Spanish required; English is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or ERP-driven environments.
• Exposure to application modernization and system integration initiatives.
• Experience with Agile and hybrid development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
