Finance Manager

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for the Japan entity, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare US-GAAP and J-GAAP financial statements, reporting packages, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed-asset forecasts.
• Manage intercompany accounting, treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange transactions, banking relationships, and payments.
• Oversee payroll accounting, retirement pension entries, external payroll providers, employee expenses, and vendor invoices.
• Coordinate tax filings, customs clearance communication with Yokohama customs office, statutory closing, SOX compliance, and internal and external audits.
• Improve finance processes and systems while managing, mentoring, and developing the accounting team.

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on finance and accounting experience, including financial close, reporting, and people management.
• Experience in a multinational company and in leading and developing an accounting team.
• Required hands-on experience with US-GAAP and J-GAAP close and reporting, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing.
• Experience with treasury, bank management, cash management, foreign exchange transactions, and full-scope payroll operations.
• Experience with SAP, system implementation and migration, finance transformation, and system rollout projects.
• Business-level Japanese and English are required for communication with headquarters and local stakeholders.
