RCM Medical Coding Processor

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

What you will do

• Abstract coding for professional-fee E/M visits, office-based services, and procedures.
• Perform daily quality assurance evaluations of coded services.
• Validate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and modifier assignments against clinical documentation.
• Identify coding discrepancies, compliance risks, trends, root causes, and documentation gaps.
• Provide targeted coding education, feedback, training, and reference materials.
• Support denial prevention, resolution, appeals, and cross-team coding support.

Requirements

• AAPC credential required: CPC or CPC-A.
• At least 2 years of professional-fee abstract medical coding experience.
• Proficiency with E/M documentation guidelines, modifier rules, and NCCI edits.
• Proficient knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and critical-thinking skills, and written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with EHRs, coding tools, and auditing tools.
