Senior Associate, Non-Banking Financials, Corporate Banking

Location: New York, NY — 300 Madison Ave, Floor 8. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and have a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 annually for the New York, NY market, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Execute deals and support senior bankers with client coverage across financial institutions.
• Underwrite credit, maintain existing credit relationships, and manage deal processes.
• Support the strategy and growth of the US Financial Institution Group and its Capital Markets business.
• Develop and cultivate new client relationships, with an emphasis on insurance and specialty finance.
• Monitor client, industry, regulatory, economic, and political developments to tailor financing solutions.
• Coordinate with risk, legal, CIBC Capital Markets, and cross-border stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in the financial institutions sector.
• Knowledge of core banking products, including corporate finance, hedging, trade finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and global markets products.
• Strong corporate finance, credit underwriting, credit analysis, and financial risk assessment skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and relationship management skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including preparation of pitch decks, internal presentations, and deal committee materials.
• Maintain or obtain FINRA Series 79, 63, and SIE registrations within 90 days of hire.
