Lead AI Architect

Salary: $125,000–$130,000 per year in Charlotte, NC, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Create end-to-end solution designs, reference architectures, diagrams, patterns, and architecture decision records.
• Design and integrate AI, GenAI, and machine-learning components, selecting suitable tools and architectural patterns.
• Build proofs of concept and working prototypes to validate decisions and reduce delivery risk.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders on security, scalability, resilience, cost, and delivery goals.
• Present architecture designs and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Apply enterprise architecture standards and maintain clear, usable documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building, integrating, or architecting AI, GenAI, or ML solutions.
• Lead Architect-level technical background with strong application, integration, and cloud architecture fundamentals.
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, agentic and prompt-engineering patterns, model APIs, embeddings, vector stores, and ML frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, Docker, Kubernetes, serverless services, microservices, event-driven and API-led architecture, REST or GraphQL, and messaging or streaming.
• Knowledge of data modeling, SQL, relational and NoSQL databases, data lakes or warehouses, ETL/ELT, and data governance.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, plus CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Git, automated testing, and architecture modeling tools such as C4, UML, or ArchiMate.

• Experience with data, information, or enterprise information architecture.
• Finance-domain experience, particularly in controllership or financial control processes.
