Sr. Staff Observability Software Engineer (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing solutions across applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Build the next generation observability platform on Kubernetes and open-source technologies.
• Define observability requirements, KPIs, and SLOs with software engineering, SRE, and infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate observability tools, troubleshoot complex incidents, and improve system visibility, availability, and reliability.
• Standardize observability tools, frameworks, processes, documentation, runbooks, and training materials.
• Guide and mentor engineers on observability principles and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in engineering teams building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong experience implementing and managing observability solutions in complex environments.
• Deep knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and logging technologies, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps/SRE practices is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Jaeger, or Zipkin.
• Programming experience with Go, Java, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Cloud, monitoring, or related professional certifications.
• Track record of leading observability projects and initiatives.
