Senior Design Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City, United States

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year for candidates in the U.S.

What you will do

• Own the visual and interaction design of core product surfaces, including the Playground and dashboard.
• Build production interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Set the UX quality bar across interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and information density.
• Turn rough product ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences through rapid prototyping.
• Shape and maintain the product design system and visual language.
• Partner with engineering, marketing, and sales on product direction and delivery.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio of shipped product work demonstrating design taste and craft.
• Professional UX and visual design ability from concept through high-fidelity execution.
• Deep proficiency in Figma, including low-fidelity exploration, dev-ready designs, and shared component libraries.
• Frontend engineering experience building production interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with AI-assisted design and development and an interest in AI-native interfaces.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and own outcomes end to end.

Nice to have

• Motion design experience with animation and micro-interactions.
• Illustration or visual storytelling skills for graphics, diagrams, and brand-aligned artwork.
• Experience designing developer platforms or API-first products.
