Civil / Environmental Engineering Intern

Location: On-site in Merritt Island, Florida, USA; reliable transportation and a valid unrestricted driver license are required. Part-time work is limited to an average of 25 hours per week, with schedules coordinated around the academic calendar.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support civil site design, water resource management planning, permitting, utility and roadway design, environmental assessments, and minor structural design.
• Assist engineering and drafting teams across project phases from concept design through implementation and testing.
• Help prepare plans, specifications, calculations, design documents, cost analyses, and material take-offs.
• Maintain project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and progress reports.
• Support project management plans and quality-control programs, and coordinate design concerns with engineers of record, design leads, and project managers.
• Perform project research, minor drafting, technical report writing, database updates, and engineering analyses.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Civil and/or Environmental Engineering program at a four-year ABET-accredited university or college.
• Expected graduation within two years, preferably within one year.
• Must be able to attend the Merritt Island, Florida office and provide reliable transportation.
• Valid unrestricted driver license required.
• US citizenship verification is required upon hire due to federal contract compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, FDEP, ICC, ASTM, or UFC codes.
• Experience with Civil3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, or other modeling and drafting software.
