Scientist, Quality (Protein-Based Immunoassays)

Location: Rockville, Maryland, USA; standard office environment.

Annual base salary: $78,100–$116,200, with potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Manage testing, technical transfer, and advanced troubleshooting for protein-based immunoassays.
• Review testing data, investigate failures, and monitor process and product performance trends.
• Perform descriptive statistical analysis and identify process and product improvements.
• Lead Material Review Board meetings and coordinate CAPA documentation, including deviations and non-conforming material reports.
• Develop, revise, and implement SOPs, test records, and product specification documents.
• Present experimental conclusions, recommendations, and improvement initiatives to cross-functional and senior management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; additional education may substitute for experience, and additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Strong scientific and analytical foundation with demonstrated knowledge of protein-based immunoassay execution, development, and optimization.
• Experience with immunoassay troubleshooting, reagents, logical problem solving, and root cause analysis.
• Understanding of molecular biology techniques, laboratory safety, personal protective equipment, and data integrity practices.
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks, communicate technical data, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard data analysis tools and databases.

Nice to have

• Supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with design of experiments.
• Familiarity with Matlab, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
