Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite role. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. export-control rules may also require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or applicable government authorizations.
Base pay: $100,000–$150,000 USD annually, with level and compensation determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do
- Own the end-to-end development of spacecraft propulsion and fluidic products or systems, serving as a technical lead.
- Perform conceptual and detailed performance calculations, systems modeling, analysis, and system design.
- Gather, define, and manage requirements while leading systems engineering activities.
- Plan, set up, instrument, execute, and analyze propulsion and flight-hardware tests.
- Make risk-based technical decisions and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build schedules, coordinate engineers and technicians, mentor team members, and maintain engineering standards and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in propulsion system development or another high-performance engineering field.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Experience with systems engineering, requirements, testing, technical risk assessment, and end-to-end product development is relevant to the role.
- Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing computer-based work, with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
Nice to have
- Propulsion modeling and static or transient analysis using Amesim, EcosimPro, Simulink, Simscape, or similar tools.
- Experience with electrical or chemical storable-propellant systems, flight-hardware testing, and troubleshooting.
- Python for data manipulation and post-processing.
- Mechanical design using NX or equivalent CAD software, GD&T, engineering drawings, and PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
- Experience with Jama, National Instruments data acquisition systems, and a master’s degree or PhD in engineering.
