Wallet Custody Operations Director (Crypto)

What you will do

• Own daily hot, warm, and cold wallet operations, including liquidity monitoring, rebalancing, inter-wallet transfers, and network fee reserves.
• Design wallet structures for regulated entities and support licensing applications, regulatory reviews, audits, and client asset segregation requirements.
• Lead proof-of-reserves programmes, including methodology, asset and liability scope, third-party verification, on-chain signing, Merkle tree construction, and publication.
• Partner with Wallet Engineering and Security on chain integrations, MPC/HSM upgrades, multi-signature policies, smart contract wallets, key ceremonies, access controls, and disaster recovery.
• Manage operational risk, transaction controls, incident response, 24/7 escalation, audit trails, reconciliation, and management reporting.
• Recruit, manage, and develop wallet operations analysts and engineers while establishing KPIs, OKRs, runbooks, SOPs, and training materials.

Requirements

• 4–8+ years of experience in digital assets, crypto exchanges, or institutional crypto custody.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain mechanics, including UTXO and account-based models, MPC, HSM, and multi-signature systems.
• Hands-on experience with Fireblocks, Copper, BitGo, Ceffu, or similar custody platforms.
• Experience with key ceremonies, cold storage operations, access control frameworks, SOP authoring, incident management, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of regulated-entity requirements such as CMA, MiCA, or VARA, including client asset segregation.
• Proven experience managing a small-to-mid-size operations team; SQL or Python experience is beneficial.
