Sr. Engineer, Quality Assurance (Analytical Laboratory)

What you will do

• Provide quality oversight for materials characterization, analytical methods, laboratory systems, and analytical data integrity.
• Lead investigations into deviations, out-of-specification and out-of-trend results, and contamination events.
• Drive analytical robustness, testing stability, laboratory throughput, and continuous improvement through statistical process control.
• Oversee analyst training, qualification, competency, instrument qualification, calibration, and metrology practices.
• Approve change controls and risk assessments, and review analytical methods, validations, and method changes.
• Maintain laboratory quality systems under ISO 17025 and ISO 9001, support audits, and provide expertise in 8D, RCA, FMEA, and structured problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory, quality engineering, or QA role.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent laboratory quality systems.
• Experience with analytical method validation, investigations, analytical instrumentation controls, SPC, stability, accuracy, variation, method uncertainty, GR&R, and correlation and matching.
• Hands-on experience with quality tools including Pareto analysis, FMEA, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 8D problem solving.
• Must be able to work at the Austin/Burnet facility; hirify.global does not provide immigration-related sponsorship, including H1B, TN, or STEM OPT sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in the semiconductor materials supply chain.
• Familiarity with trace or ultra-trace analytical techniques such as ICP-MS or SIMS.
• Experience supporting customer or regulatory audits.
• Exposure to LIMS, CDS, or laboratory software validation.
• Familiarity with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
