Analysis Engineer II (Spacecraft) (Aerospace Structures): Analyzing and improving spacecraft, launch vehicle, and ground support equipment structures with an accent on weight optimization, strength and stability requirements, and analysis-test correlation. Focus on linear and nonlinear finite element analysis, buckling and modal analysis, validating models with hand calculations and test data, and defining structural margins.

Location: U.S. work authorization required under ITAR regulations; hirify.global is headquartered in north Austin, Texas.

What you will do

  • Analyze structures for spacecraft, launch vehicles, and launch and test ground support equipment.
  • Perform classical hand calculations and finite element analysis for composite and metallic structures.
  • Conduct linear and nonlinear structural, eigenvalue buckling, nonlinear buckling, and modal analyses using ANSYS and NX Nastran.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, responsible, and systems engineers throughout the hardware design lifecycle.
  • Develop test requirements and correlate, validate, and review analysis models using test data and hand calculations.
  • Define material properties and part modifications and write strength and stability margins against program safety factors.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with analytical simulation software and hand calculations for structural analysis.
  • Familiarity with standard aerospace analysis methods.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Strong understanding of first principles related to structures and materials.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.
