TL;DR
Director Technology - Data Platforms (AI): Shaping modern enterprise data platform propositions and leading complex cloud-native transformation programs with an accent on data products, data mesh, real-time architectures, and AI readiness. Focus on designing scalable distributed platforms, guiding executive and client engagements, shaping commercial solutions, and building engineering capability across the UK and Europe.
Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with an expectation of ideally 2–3 days per week in the office. Occasional travel across Europe is required.

What you will do
- Shape data platform propositions, technical direction, and strategic positioning across the UK and Europe.
- Advise enterprise clients on data platform strategy, architecture, operating models, and AI readiness.
- Lead architecture and technical direction for complex data platform modernisation and transformation programmes.
- Support pre-sales, proposal development, solution shaping, executive stakeholder engagement, and strategic partner relationships.
- Lead client initiatives across data engineering, platform modernisation, AI enablement, and operational data systems.
- Support recruitment, mentoring, capability uplift, thought leadership, and practice development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience across data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering, or data architecture.
- Proven consultancy, enterprise client-facing, pre-sales, proposal development, and solution-shaping experience.
- Experience architecting and delivering modern cloud-native data platforms at enterprise scale.
- Strong knowledge of data products, data mesh, federated governance, distributed data systems, orchestration, and domain-oriented data ownership.
- Experience designing platforms for AI-native use cases, machine learning systems, agentic workflows, real-time data, event-driven architectures, and low-latency processing.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, dbt, Kubernetes, Airflow, or similar modern platform tooling, plus experience leading enterprise initiatives and engineering teams.
