TL;DR
Frontend Architect (Robotics): Own the architecture and technical direction of a frontend ecosystem spanning applications, shared libraries, design systems, build tooling, and deployment pipelines with an accent on large-scale platforms, real-time interfaces, and business-aligned technical decisions. Focus on designing micro-frontends and resilient API integrations, optimizing performance, building 3D human-machine interfaces, and guiding engineering teams through complex delivery.
Location: On-site in Metzingen or Riederich, Germany

What you will do
- Own the architecture of frontend applications, shared libraries, design systems, build tooling, and deployment pipelines.
- Define frontend standards for component architecture, state management, testing, performance, accessibility, and internationalization.
- Evaluate technologies and make build-versus-buy, prioritization, and roadmap decisions based on business impact and maintainability.
- Lead architectural reviews, proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, and API contract discussions with backend architects.
- Guide planning and delivery, mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and raise engineering quality through reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend architects, and DevOps to ensure end-to-end technical coherence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including several years in technical leadership or architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, production-grade frontend platforms.
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, browser APIs, rendering, event loops, web security, and major frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Strong experience with micro-frontends, module federation, monorepos, design systems, state management, performance engineering, and frontend testing.
- Understanding of 3D web visualization and real-time or streaming data interfaces, including WebGL, Three.js, or WebGPU.
- Excellent English communication skills are required; German is a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience in robotics, industrial automation, IoT, or other hardware-adjacent domains.
- Experience with open-source contributions, technical writing, or conference talks.
- Experience scaling frontend teams and platforms during rapid company growth.
