Manager/Senior Manager, Insurance Risk & Control Manager (Fintech)

What you will do

• Partner with Product, IT, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Operations to embed controls into sales journeys, system changes, and product launches.
• Develop and maintain the insurance risk and control framework, policies, and governance processes.
• Identify, assess, and monitor operational and conduct risks across product lifecycle, distribution, and claims processes.
• Design and run control testing, gap analyses, and remediation plans.
• Prepare regulatory submissions and periodic risk reports, and support regulatory inspections and queries.
• Define risk KPIs and control metrics, using data analytics to detect emerging risks and inform controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance risk, operational risk, compliance, or internal audit within a bank, insurer, or large financial institution.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, control testing, AML/KYC, data privacy, complaint handling, and claims processes.
• Familiarity with Hong Kong regulatory requirements for insurance distribution.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English and Cantonese; Mandarin is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience covering both General Insurance and Life products.
• More extensive experience may support consideration for the Senior Manager title.
• Mandarin language skills.
