TL;DR
Automation & Process Control Engineer (DCS/PLC, manufacturing): Optimize control systems and upgrade manufacturing processes and equipment for Kapton® polyimide film production with an accent on reliability, capacity, efficiency, quality, safety, yield, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Focus on troubleshooting DCS and PLC systems, diagnosing process and equipment issues, and implementing incremental improvements or major technology changes across polymer manufacturing, distillation, extraction, casting, coating, heat treatment, and slitting operations.

Location: Circleville, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Circleville facility

What you will do

  • Optimize asset control systems to improve reliability, capacity, and process efficiency.
  • Lead programs focused on process efficiency, quality, process safety, yield, plant capacity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
  • Upgrade manufacturing processes and machines through incremental improvements and major technology changes.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for plant operations across polymer manufacturing, solvent distillation and extraction, film casting, coating, heat treatment, and slitting.
  • Work with engineers, operators, and mechanics to provide technical expertise and strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • More than one year of process control engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience troubleshooting and upgrading DCS and PLC systems, including software and hardware.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve process and equipment issues.
  • Working knowledge of PSM Technology elements, including PHA, Process Technology, MOC-Technology, and RAGAGEP.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication, independent work, and technical networking skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with web-handling technology.
