Conflicts Staff Attorney (Specialized / Lateral Conflicts)

Location: Colorado

Salary: $145,000–$210,000 annual pay range, dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.

What you will do

• Maintain current knowledge of ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and jurisdictional differences across relevant states, countries, and practice areas.
• Monitor changes to ABA and jurisdictional rules and suggest firm policy updates to the Associate Director of Conflicts.
• Analyze and resolve conflicts of interest involving new business and new hires.
• Work with managers, directors, conflict analysts, and attorneys to obtain information and determine conflict issues.
• Draft and review ethical screens, conflict waivers, and risk management engagement-letter provisions.
• Support the client engagement terms program, review and code outside counsel guidelines, and conduct research on conflicts, corporate affiliations, and corporate relatedness.

Requirements

• After orientation, proficiency with Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications.
• Ability to travel as required and work extended and/or weekend hours as required.
• 3+ years of conflicts resolution experience or 5+ years as a practicing attorney, preferably with a large law firm.
• JD degree.
• Active membership in good standing or registration as in-house counsel of the bar(s) in all jurisdictions from which you regularly work and, if applicable, in the jurisdiction of the assigned office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, teamwork with diverse groups across offices, strong organization, efficiency, and commitment to high-quality work.
