Controller (Travel-Tech)

hirify.global operates a self-service ski trip booking platform that combines flights, accommodation, transfers, ski passes, equipment, and lessons. The platform connects thousands of suppliers and supports bookings across 310 resorts in 20 countries.

What you will do

• Manage full-cycle intercompany accounting across multi-currency operations, including FX translation, transfer pricing, journal entries, and opening and closing balances.
• Own the alignment, books, and statutory audits of the UK and Netherlands entities.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across all entities, including general ledger controls, reconciliations, journal entries, and chart of accounts management.
• Ensure US GAAP compliance, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for bookings, cancellations, and refunds on a departure-date basis.
• Oversee financial statement consolidation, accounting positions and memos, leases, R&D capitalization, and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Coordinate VAT, corporate tax, and foreign vendor payment compliance with external advisors and tax authorities, while evaluating AI-powered automation to accelerate close.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA qualification.
• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Hands-on intercompany accounting across multiple legal entities, including balances, transfer pricing, and journal entries.
• Experience consolidating financial statements across multiple entities and currencies.
• Hands-on experience with Priority ERP.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606.
• Experience managing external audits, ideally including UK and/or Netherlands statutory audits.
• At least 2 years of experience in a high-growth technology company. Travel-tech, e-commerce, marketplace, or payments experience is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience using AI or automation tools to streamline the monthly close.

Nice to have

• Prior ownership of a UK and/or Netherlands entity, including statutory audit.
• International tax or VAT experience.
• Experience implementing or migrating ERP systems.
