Physician Advisor

Location: Remote - Nationwide (United States)

Salary: $198,000–$297,000 per year, based on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Lead utilization and resource management to support quality, cost-effective care in the appropriate setting.
• Make status determinations for hospitalized patients and conduct short inpatient stay and daily observation reviews.
• Perform peer-to-peer reviews with payor medical directors and assist with denials and appeals.
• Build relationships with medical staff and hospital leadership to gain alignment on utilization management issues.
• Participate in utilization management committees as a subject matter expert and educate medical staff.
• Partner with utilization review nurses, IA staff, and Case Management to improve utilization management processes and track denial trends.

Requirements

• MD or DO physician qualification required.
• Experience leading resource and utilization management activities in a hospital or health-system setting.
• Ability to work with medical staff, resident physicians, hospital leadership, payor medical directors, and case management teams.
• Ability to communicate decisions clearly, lead teams, coach others, and manage programs or projects through implementation.
• Must be able to work remotely within the United States.
