Revenue and Margin Accountant, Temporary

Location: Remote in Canada; preference for a time zone within 2–3 hours of Newfoundland Daylight Time.

What you will do

• Support the month-end close for revenue and direct costs by preparing and posting journal entries.
• Recognize revenue on deferred subscription invoices and cost of sales on prepaid invoices using established Excel models.
• Prepare monthly accruals, sales provisions, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
• Provide intercompany revenue, accrued income, deferred revenue, and prepaid general ledger details for month-end eliminations.
• Analyze month-over-month revenue variances by product and customer, investigate errors, and explain significant changes.
• Prioritize work against month-end deadlines, maintain timely support, and escalate issues when required.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Bachelor of Commerce degree or diploma in Accounting.
• 1–3 years of experience in an accounting-related position.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work remotely from Canada.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of SAP or another major general ledger accounting system.
• Professional accounting designation completed or in progress.
