Senior Space Operations Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop spacecraft operations plans, procedures, mission concepts, and design reference missions.
• Build operational automation, ground-segment capabilities, mission planning, command and control, and mission data-processing infrastructure.
• Lead operational lifecycle activities from proposal and mission modeling through spacecraft integration, system-level testing, shipment, launch, and on-orbit operations.
• Define ground and mission operations requirements and flow operational needs into spacecraft design.
• Develop mission-operations input for spacecraft fault detection, response, autonomy, and onboard command and control.
• Coordinate with GNC, flight software, avionics, propulsion, and other subsystem teams while resolving technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• 5+ years of experience in testing or operational environments.
• 5+ years of experience with basic software scripting.
• Demonstrated project ownership and ability to work effectively in small teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or science.
• 5+ years of experience with Python, C++, or a similar programming language.
• 3+ years of experience writing operations documentation.
• Previous experience conducting on-orbit operations.
