Software Engineer

Location: Onsite at the San Jose Great Oaks Headquarters, San Jose, California, United States. Related roles may be located in Colorado Springs, Irvine, Longmont, Fremont, and Rochester.

Salary: $110,900–$147,800 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize system software, engineering tools, utilities, and commercial or internal applications.
• Build operating systems, compilers, networking tools, databases, Internet-based applications, data pipelines, warehouses, dashboards, and automation tools.
• Develop and debug embedded firmware using low-level programming languages, including C, C++, and assembly.
• Define system requirements, evaluate hardware-software compatibility, and integrate multiple subsystems into complete products.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and product integration.
• Document software deployment and maintenance processes and support new product development from concept through production.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing technical skills through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects using C, C++, Python, Java, Go, SQL, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with software development fundamentals, debugging, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, or computer engineering concepts.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Interest in storage technologies, semiconductors, embedded systems, cloud computing, AI, data analytics, or other emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and development tools such as Git, Linux, or IDEs.
