GNC Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: U.S. work authorization required under ITAR regulations; hirify.global is headquartered in north Austin, Texas.

What you will do

• Develop and validate GNC software for launch vehicle mission execution.
• Tune attitude determination and control algorithms across all phases of flight.
• Perform 6DOF dynamic analyses, stability analyses, sensitivity studies, and trajectory assessments.
• Build and maintain simulation models for sensors, actuators, and environmental effects.
• Create automation tools for workflow processing, flight-data analysis, and technical reporting.
• Integrate GNC software with vehicle hardware, support hardware-in-the-loop testing and launch operations, and perform post-flight analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in aerospace guidance, navigation, and control or a related technical discipline.
• Understanding of launch vehicle flight mechanics, attitude dynamics, numerical simulation, integration methods, and dynamic-system modeling.
• Experience with Python for scripting, data analysis, and visualization, plus familiarity with C++ for real-time or flight-critical applications.
• Knowledge of software development practices including Git, documentation, and testing.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree focused on GNC, flight mechanics, or controls.
• Launch vehicle GNC experience across development, integration, and flight.
• Knowledge of Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, covariance analysis, numerical optimization, and trajectory targeting.
• Experience with flight software frameworks, real-time operating systems, CI/CD, automated testing, Linux, and command-line tools.
• Exposure to spaceflight mission operations or launch campaigns.
