Head of Threat Research (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote, based in the United States; occasional travel for conferences, team meetings, and customer engagements.

hirify.global provides cybercrime detection and disruption services using global malicious URL and domain telemetry and a large takedown corpus covering phishing, malware, and brand impersonation attacks.

What you will do

• Lead hands-on research into phishing, malware, malicious JavaScript, online fraud, and cybercrime campaigns.
• Set editorial direction and quality standards for whitepapers, customer reports, blog posts, and briefing materials.
• Manage the publication pipeline and review research for clarity, accuracy, quality, and technical depth.
• Mentor and develop a small team of threat analysts.
• Present original findings to security analysts, executives, boards, government officials, customers, conference audiences, and media.
• Partner with engineering, operations, product, marketing, and sales teams to turn research into detection rules, IOC feeds, takedown signals, platform improvements, and customer insights.

Requirements

• Published research in threat intelligence or cybersecurity, including blog posts, whitepapers, or conference talks.
• Several years of threat intelligence experience, including team leadership or management.
• Experience presenting original research to both technical analysts and C-suite executives.
• Strong editorial judgment and experience improving research writing and managing a publication pipeline.
• Deep knowledge of phishing, malware, online fraud, social engineering, and threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Current working knowledge of web technologies, internet infrastructure, and data analysis.
