Industrialization / Electronics Test Engineer (Robotics): Developing and scaling electronics production test systems for ANYmal quadrupedal robots with an accent on functional, in-circuit, and end-of-line testing for PCBAs and electronic assemblies. Focus on automating test infrastructure, debugging hardware failures, improving manufacturing quality and yield, and coordinating technical solutions across R&D, Operations, Quality, and manufacturing partners.

What you will do
- Own and improve current and next-generation electronics production test systems for ANYmal products.
- Develop and deploy functional, In-Circuit Testing (ICT), and end-of-line test solutions for PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
- Analyze production failures and test data to improve manufacturing quality and yield.
- Support the industrialization and rollout of ANYmal X and future robotic platforms.
- Establish scalable testing, automation, lifecycle management, and hardware maintenance practices.
- Act as the technical interface between Operations, R&D, Quality, and EMS manufacturing partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Professional experience in electronics test engineering within production or hardware manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience developing, building, and deploying functional test systems for PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
- Strong hardware debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable power supplies, and communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, and Ethernet.
- Fluent written and spoken English; experience with test automation and scripting using Python or LabVIEW.
Nice to have
- Firmware development experience.
- Industry experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial electronics.
- Experience with National Instruments platforms such as TestStand and LabVIEW.
- Conversational or fluent German for supplier and EMS communication.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, or IPC standards.
