Chemist (6-Month Assignment) (Analytical Chemistry)

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; onsite day shift, Saturday to Wednesday, 7:00-15:30 EST

Salary: $72,080-$108,120 annually

What you will do

• Perform chemical analysis of final products and in-process samples to confirm compliance with specifications.
• Use instrumental and wet chemical techniques, including chromatographic and spectroscopic methods.
• Record, approve, and forward analytical results through the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Maintain the chemistry laboratory, work areas, glassware, waste processes, and chemical inventory.
• Perform preventative maintenance on quality management laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate manufacturer service when equipment malfunctions occur.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of analytical chemical testing laboratory experience.
• Experience with quality laboratory equipment and computerized laboratory systems.
• Analytical testing experience using HPLC, ICP-MS, GC, atomic absorption, UV-VIS, flame photometry, or IR spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• More than two years of chemical laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with LIMS.
• Technical writing experience.
