Chemist (6-month assignment) - Day shift (Sunday to Thursday 7:00h-15:30h EST)

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; onsite at the Alliston facility. Day shift Sunday to Thursday, 7:00h–15:30h EST.

Salary: $72,080–$108,120 annually, including base salary and estimated target incentive payout.

What you will do

• Perform chemical analysis of final products and in-process samples using instrumental and wet chemical techniques.
• Verify product results against specifications and take appropriate action when results are out of limits.
• Enter, approve, and forward laboratory results in the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Maintain the chemistry laboratory, including 6S activities, waste disposal, glassware cleaning, and reagent control.
• Perform preventative maintenance on quality management laboratory equipment and coordinate manufacturer service when equipment malfunctions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience, majoring in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• 3–5 years of analytical chemical testing laboratory experience.
• Experience with analytical testing techniques including HPLC, ICP-MS, GC, atomic absorption, UV-VIS, flame photometry, and IR spectroscopy.
• Familiarity with quality management laboratory equipment, MS Office, and computerized laboratory systems.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• More than two years of chemical laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with LIMS and technical writing.
