Product Designer, Internship - US Government

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design execution of real product features with minimal supervision.
• Define product concepts, workflows, micro-interactions, and visual designs for complex analytical interfaces.
• Conduct informal user research through usability testing, contextual inquiry, customer interviews, and product usage metrics.
• Prototype and communicate designs in close collaboration with product managers, designers, developers, and forward-deployed engineers.
• Create flexible, reusable UI components and advocate for UX consistency.

Requirements

• Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
• Planning to graduate in 2028; this must be the final internship before graduation.
• Portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project.
• Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma.
• Strong collaboration, communication, empathy, iterative design, and critique skills.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is appreciated for collaboration with engineers.
