Staff Engineer Data (Data Engineering)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week at the office in Paris, France

What you will do

• Design and implement the end-to-end data architecture for the Public Intelligence team.
• Build and deploy real-time systems that qualify secrets within minutes of detection.
• Redesign the multi-service architecture for greater robustness, horizontal scalability, and maintainability.
• Extend data ingestion beyond GitHub to sources such as Docker Hub, NPM, and PyPI.
• Design monitoring, maintenance, and alerting systems for the data pipeline.
• Mentor engineers, contribute production code, and shape the technical roadmap with Engineering and Product.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering and operating large-scale, production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, streaming, event-driven systems, and real-time architectures.
• Production experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with ClickHouse or a similar large-scale analytical database.
• Hands-on experience redesigning or refactoring production architectures and contributing directly to critical code.
• Fluent English is required for working in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale search systems such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• Familiarity with agentic systems or LLM-based architectures applied to data pipelines.
• Experience in high-growth startups or scale-ups.

Hiring process
