Scientific Director, Medical Communications (Life Sciences)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead scientific strategy and ensure medical communications content is evidence-based, accurate, clinically relevant, and aligned with client objectives.
• Write, review, and provide direction on content developed by Medical Writers, Editors, and Graphic Artists.
• Analyze complex medical documents and oversee literature research, competitor activity, therapeutic-area developments, and market opportunities.
• Manage and mentor Medical Writers while coordinating authors, faculty, Key Opinion Leaders, clients, and internal teams.
• Oversee project timelines, regulatory review processes, quality standards, and consistency across client teams.
• Support advisory board design, business development presentations, new client opportunities, and content-development process improvements.

Requirements

• Advanced life sciences degree: MD, PhD, or PharmD.
• Extensive medical writing experience.
• At least 2–3 years of communication agency experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, collaboration, and client-interaction skills.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and reference-management software such as EndNote.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.
