TL;DR
Associate Scientist, Process Development (I,II,III) (Cell and Gene Therapy): Developing and scaling cell therapy manufacturing processes for the Cellares platform with an accent on primary immune cell culture, technology transfer, and process documentation. Focus on designing experiments, troubleshooting semi-automated instruments, investigating deviations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

What you will do

  • Design and execute small-scale and scale-up experiments for cell therapy workflow and process development.
  • Adapt client cell therapy manufacturing processes to the hirify.global platform and support technology transfer.
  • Maintain primary cell lines and process leukopaks, including isolation, activation, gene modification, expansion, and cryopreservation.
  • Develop process diagrams, flowcharts, project plans, timelines, and technical reports.
  • Draft and review work instructions, SOPs, test plans, Manufacturing Batch Records, and Bills of Materials.
  • Analyze process data, present technical results, and investigate deviations and non-conformances through corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 4–10 years of process development experience in the cell and gene therapy field.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and primary immune cell culture.
  • Extensive experience using and troubleshooting semi-automated instruments and laboratory information management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, technical writing, and SOP/report authoring skills.
  • Creative, self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to integrity and continuous growth.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with cell therapy analytical testing methods, including flow cytometry and cell-based assays.
