Senior Scientist, LNP, Process Development & Manufacturing (LNP)

What you will do

• Lead LNP formulation studies supporting process characterization, technology transfer, and manufacturing readiness.
• Collaborate with MSAT, analytical development, quality, manufacturing, and external clients on process development and scale-up.
• Characterize LNP and targeted LNP formulations, including size, PDI, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, lipid content, ligand density, conjugation efficiency, and stability.
• Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot process challenges, identify improvements, and communicate technical recommendations.
• Support commercial proposals and work-package evaluations for LNP drug-product manufacturing projects.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience; alternatively, a BS/MS with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 6 years of experience working with LNP-based products in process development or manufacturing.
• Practical expertise in LNP formulation, optimization, targeted LNP development, purification, scale-up, and GMP manufacturing.
• Experience with GMP regulations, regulatory expectations, CMC documentation, technology transfer, and regulatory filings.
• Experience with LNP analytical and biophysical characterization, including DLS, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, lipid quantification, and stability testing.
• Experience operating automated LNP manufacturing systems and filtration platforms, including TFF.

Nice to have

• Experience with ligand conjugation, functionalization, and targeted delivery-system characterization.
• Experience developing LNP release-testing methods, including UPLC/HPLC-CAD and payload quantification.
• Knowledge of mRNA process-development operations such as IVT and chromatography.
• Proficiency with JMP, Design of Experiments, and data-driven process development.
