TL;DR
Process Engineer (Network Switches & AI Servers) (SMT/PCBA and manufacturing quality): Owning manufacturing processes for high-speed network switches and AI servers from EVT through DVT, PVT, and high-volume production with an accent on SMT, mechanical assembly, liquid cooling, and quality control. Focus on optimizing large-BGA reflow, managing CM/ODM production readiness, driving yield improvement, and resolving complex manufacturing failures through PFMEA, SPC, 8D, and root-cause analysis.

Location: On-site in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, embedded with manufacturing operations and contract manufacturing partners. Occasional travel to headquarters and regional partner sites is required.

What you will do

  • Own SMT process development for complex PCBAs, including stencil design, solder paste, SPI, placement, reflow, AOI, X-ray inspection, and rework.
  • Optimize assembly for large BGAs, FCBGA, LGA, OAM-style packages, fine-pitch components, optical cages, and mixed-technology boards.
  • Own box-build and chassis-level assembly, including heatsinks, liquid-cooling cold plates, manifolds, leak testing, shielding, cable routing, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Lead PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, FAI, PPAP-style qualification, pilot builds, and EVT-to-MP manufacturing transitions.
  • Drive 8D investigations, root-cause analysis, SPC, yield and DPMO improvement, and closure of line escapes, NPI fallout, and RMA issues.
  • Coordinate daily with CM and ODM partners in Bac Ninh and collaborate with electrical, signal integrity, mechanical, thermal, test, reliability, quality, and supply-chain teams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of process engineering experience delivering complex, high-speed electronic products at volume.
  • Deep hands-on SMT expertise, including large-BGA reflow profiling, warpage analysis, stencil and solder-paste optimization, and X-ray yield decisions.
  • Strong mechanical assembly knowledge covering tolerances, torque, fasteners, CAD reviews, fit and finish, and field reliability.
  • Fluency in PFMEA, 8D, SPC, FAI/PPAP, ISO 9001, IPC-A-610 Class 3, and J-STD-001.
  • Hands-on NPI and sustaining experience with major contract manufacturers or ODMs, plus a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent English communication skills are required, including writing 8D reports, presenting yield data, and running production reviews.

Nice to have

  • Experience with 51.2T or 102.4T Ethernet switches, large AI server or accelerator platforms, or OAM/UBB systems.
  • Hands-on liquid-cooling manufacturing experience.
  • Optical module qualification at 400G, 800G, or 1.6T, including QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD, LPO/LRO, or CPO.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, hyperscaler/OCP quality, or audit experience.
  • Working proficiency in Vietnamese and/or Mandarin.
