Lead Security & Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Own identity and access management, including least-privilege administration, phishing-resistant authentication, and SSO.
• Define security and management standards for macOS and Windows endpoints, including encryption, patching, compliance, and remote lock or wipe.
• Scale monitoring, detection, alerting, incident response coordination, post-incident reporting, and tabletop readiness.
• Secure corporate, laboratory, and cloud operations, including integrations, data transfers, vendor-managed systems, backups, recovery, and continuity.
• Build internal tooling and automation for onboarding, access reviews, security reporting, and AI agent governance.

Requirements

• Several years of experience across security engineering, SRE, platform, or infrastructure, including early or sole security and IT ownership at a startup.
• Fluency with identity providers, endpoint management, AWS security tooling, networking, collaboration tools, end-user computing, backups, and operational systems.
• Experience scaling security operations through in-house solutions, MSPs, MDR providers, or technical vendors.
• Experience supporting technical, scientific, or laboratory environments and managing MSPs and vendors directly.
• Demonstrated use of AI agents and automation, with an understanding of how to secure them.
• Ability to right-size controls and communicate with scientists, operators, executives, vendors, auditors, and sponsors.

Nice to have

• Experience with GxP, clinical, regulated environments, SOC 2, ISO 27001, sponsor audits, or clinical-trial audits.
• Familiarity with audit trails, data integrity, and ALCOA+ expectations.
• Programming experience and the ability to write production automation code.
