Head of Reliability and Failure Analysis (IoT Hardware)

What you will do

• Build and lead the in-house reliability function across reliability engineering, test engineering, and failure analysis.
• Define reliability standards, product requirements, test plans, readiness gates, and sign-off criteria for major milestones including DVT and PVT.
• Build scalable test systems covering chambers, rigs, instrumentation, DAQ systems, automation, procedures, and calibration.
• Lead failure analysis for field returns and test failures, progressing investigations from symptoms through root cause, corrective action, and verified fixes.
• Partner with hardware design, firmware, production, supplier quality, and support teams to improve product reliability across multiple product lines.
• Grow the team and establish operating rhythms for reliability reviews, investigations, readiness gates, and closure tracking.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, ideally with high-reliability IoT or consumer electronics devices.
• Experience in fast-scaling, high-accountability product environments.
• Deep experience with environmental testing, accelerated life testing, HALT/HASS, and reliability growth.
• Experience with test jigs, instrumentation, DAQ systems, and test automation.
• Track record of leading technical teams and building people, process, laboratory, and test infrastructure capabilities.
• Strong formal failure investigation and corrective action experience, with effective cross-functional collaboration.
