Senior Compiler Engineer

Building a data processing engine that accelerates analytics and GenAI preprocessing across Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Ray, and diverse hardware platforms.

What you will do

• Architect compilation pipelines that translate logical and physical data-processing plans into efficient CPU, GPU, and FPGA code.
• Design and implement functional and performance enhancements for production compilers.
• Develop, test, optimize, and maintain compiler components.
• Analyze CPU and GPU capabilities, compiler platforms, and tools to identify performance and product opportunities.
• Define product language specifications with engineering and product management while ensuring standards and workload compliance.
• Improve design reviews, testing, CI/CD, issue resolution, security, and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing and enhancing production-quality compilers, tools, or related software.
• Deep knowledge of compiler internals, including parsing, intermediate representations, type systems, and static analysis.
• Experience with auto-vectorization, data-parallel architectures, GCC, LLVM, MLIR, and flex/yacc/ANTLR.
• Exceptional programming skills in C and C++; extensive Linux development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with query compilers, query planners, SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Presto, or Nvidia GPUs.
• Rust development experience.
