Senior Compiler Engineer (Data Processing)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture for translating data processing logical and physical plans into efficient code for CPU, GPU, and FPGA execution.
• Design and implement functional and performance enhancements for production compilers.
• Individually develop, test, optimize, and maintain compiler components.
• Analyze CPU and GPU capabilities, compiler platforms, and tools to identify opportunities for technology and product differentiation.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management on language specifications, industry standards, platform definitions, and workload requirements.
• Drive best practices in design reviews, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, issue resolution, security, efficiency, and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of deep technical experience developing and enhancing production-quality compilers, tools, or related software.
• Demonstrated experience with auto-vectorization compiler technologies and data-parallel architectures.
• Demonstrated experience with compiler internals and solid experience with GCC, LLVM, and MLIR.
• Demonstrated experience with parsing, intermediate representation, type systems, and static analysis, plus solid experience with flex, yacc, or ANTLR.
• Exceptional programming skills in C and C++.
• Extensive development experience in Linux environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with compilation for data applications such as query compilers and query planners.
• Experience with data processing languages such as SQL and Python.
• Experience with acceleration hardware such as Nvidia GPUs.
• Experience with data processing engines such as Apache Spark and Presto.
• Rust experience.
