Assistant Facility Security Officer (Aerospace)

Location: Remote, United States; candidates may be hired only from the listed U.S. states or the United Kingdom. Colorado Springs is preferred.

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Support the Facility Security Officer in administering the National Industrial Security Program and maintaining compliance with government and customer requirements.
• Process and track personnel security clearances, investigations, reinvestigations, eligibility, access actions, and continuous vetting notifications.
• Conduct security briefings, refresher training, debriefings, foreign travel processing, and employee education on classified information handling and reporting obligations.
• Maintain security files, training records, visit documentation, incident reports, corrective action records, and government correspondence.
• Prepare Visit Authorization Requests, coordinate classified visits and customer meetings, and support DD Form 254 requirements.
• Support inspections, audits, security assessments, incident investigations, remediation, and delegated Facility Security Officer responsibilities.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire, with eligibility for and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Experience supporting industrial security, personnel security, special security, or classified program environments.
• Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency requirements.
• Experience processing clearances and using DISS, NBIS, NISS, or comparable government security systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, discretion, independent judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience as an Assistant Facility Security Officer, Facility Security Officer, Personnel Security Specialist, or Industrial Security Specialist.
• Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency industrial security training or an industrial security certification.
• Experience with Visit Authorization Requests, DD Form 254 administration, inspections, audits, incident investigations, or corrective action tracking.
• Familiarity with insider threat, COMSEC, OPSEC, Controlled Unclassified Information, or classified information systems.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, aerospace, or space programs.
