Corporate Systems Engineer

Location: On-site in Ottawa or Toronto, Canada

What you will do

• Provide on-site IT support, including hardware and software provisioning, troubleshooting, account administration, and access management.
• Operate endpoint management, MDM enrollment and policies, SSO, account lifecycle processes, and HRIS-driven joiner, mover, and leaver workflows.
• Run site networking, including switching, Wi-Fi, network closets, structured cabling, and fiber uplinks with vendors and MSPs.
• Administer productivity, collaboration, ticketing, knowledge-base, conference-room AV, and meeting-room systems.
• Support research lab and bench machines, experimental test equipment, asset tagging, and serialization.
• Own IT asset lifecycle processes, including procurement, imaging, enrollment, inventory, secure decommissioning, and sensitive-media destruction.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or corporate IT.
• Hands-on experience with endpoint management, MDM, identity, and SSO user-lifecycle administration.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including switching, Wi-Fi, network closets, and systematic troubleshooting.
• Experience with conference-room AV and end-user support, supported by strong customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently as the sole on-site IT presence at a small, fast-moving R&D site.
• Experience in a primarily macOS environment and an ability to build processes where little currently exists.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Rippling, Okta, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Slack, or comparable tooling.
• Experience with structured cabling, fiber uplinks, network vendors, or MSP coordination.
• Experience supporting lab, bench, RF, drone, or similar experimental equipment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+.
