AI Research Engineer (Generative AI)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and train large-scale multimodal generative models for audio generation.
• Explore new modeling ideas for music, sound, and speech generation.
• Develop and experiment with post-training techniques for fine-grained control and editing.
• Conduct rigorous ablation studies and communicate actionable insights to the research team.
• Contribute to the full model lifecycle, from data curation to deployment.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Berlin or Tübingen.
• Hands-on experience training large-scale generative models in a research environment.
• Strong proficiency in PyTorch and transformer architectures.
• Solid understanding of distributed training techniques like FSDP and model parallelism.
• Strong software engineering skills for collaborative, large-scale codebases.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative models for audio (sound, music, or speech).
• Knowledge of audio codec design.
• Proficiency with profiling and debugging multi-GPU operations using Nsight.
• Track record of publications in top-tier venues or open-source contributions.
