Staff Software Test Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; on-site/in-person work is required.

Salary: $145,000–$175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute automated and manual test plans for pump firmware.
• Perform integration and system testing between pump firmware, mobile applications, and cloud APIs.
• Enhance the automation framework and optimize test creation and execution.
• Document defects, participate in dry runs and formal product runs, and manage test activities.
• Establish traceability from requirements and hazards to test cases, plans, and reports in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with developers, participate in agile planning and scrum meetings, and troubleshoot hardware and firmware using benchtop tools and firmware flashing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 10+ years of firmware testing experience and 15+ years of related overall experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Strong experience with automated and manual testing, integration and system testing, and testing frameworks.
• Experience with Appium, XCUITest, UIAutomator, the Page Object Model, Bluetooth Low Energy devices, RESTful APIs, code analysis, and unit testing.
• 10+ years of programming experience in a language such as Java, plus strong debugging, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with defect tracking, requirements, testing, task management tools, and agile development methodologies.

• Experience in regulated software development environments.

• Knowledge of current testing tools, technologies, and development trends.
