Senior Security Research Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Ankara, Turkey; hybrid work model with office presence

What you will do

• Research emerging threats, malware, threat actors, and vulnerability exploitation campaigns.
• Produce research papers, offensive and defensive security reports, whitepapers, blogs, briefs, battlecards, webinars, demos, and conference presentations.
• Work with Picus Labs, Product, and Engineering to explain product capabilities, use cases, and technical differentiation.
• Monitor market developments, analyst perspectives, category leaders, and competitors to support positioning and buyer decisions.
• Optimize technical content for SEO and AEO, covering the full buyer journey from awareness through evaluation and conversion.
• Collaborate with Growth, Threat Research, Red and Blue Teams, and Alliances on launches, campaigns, integrations, and public-facing content.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in offensive and/or defensive cybersecurity.
• Portfolio of published technical content or projects, such as blogs, papers, talks, or research.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Expertise in penetration testing, pentest automation, vulnerability management, exposure validation, and security control validation.
• Hands-on familiarity with blue-team tools such as SIEM and EDR/XDR platforms, plus adversarial techniques.
• Skills in Python, n8n, or comparable scripting and agentic automation tooling; knowledge of SEO/AEO and full-funnel content strategy.

Nice to have

• Interest or early hands-on research in autonomous or agentic security validation.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, CCSP, GPEN, GSEC, BTL1, or BTL2.
• Community contributions and presentations at industry events.
