Senior Staff AI Research Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Tribeca, New York; remote on Mondays and Fridays, in-office Tuesday through Thursday. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring new H-1B sponsorship.

Salary: $230,000–$300,000 base salary annually, plus equity grant.

What you will do

• Design and develop AI systems that improve the learning experience.
• Run rigorous experiments to validate system effectiveness.
• Create benchmarks and datasets for evaluating AI learning models.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and leading AI conferences.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy models that improve student engagement.

Requirements

• Deep technical expertise in machine learning and AI research.
• Ability to connect advanced research with human-centered educational goals.
• Experience translating research into scalable engineering solutions.
• Initiative to define impactful projects in open-ended, research-oriented environments.
• Existing U.S. work authorization is required; new H-1B sponsorship is unavailable.
